Custom Lampshades

A custom lampshade is an excellent way to ensure your home has a unique piece of functional art that enhances your aesthetic.  I love working with people to create a piece they will cherish for years.

Do you have a lamp base?

If yes, let me know and I will ask for a photo in a follow-up email.

If not, let me know what sort of lamp you are envisioning.  Any information can be helpful, such as size, location, color, and embellishments.  

Do you have a lampshade?

If yes, I can recover your existing lampshade to mimic the original design or create a new look.  You will need to ship the existing lampshade to me.  I will ask for a photo in a follow-up email.

If no, we can work together to select a frame shape and source a new frame.  I have access to several lampshade frame suppliers, though it may take weeks to months to receive new frames.

Do you have design preferences or fabrics?

If yes, I would love to hear all of your preferences and ideas.

You can ship fabrics to me to be included in the shade.  This is a great way to match specific decor, commemorate an occasion (such as using a wedding dress), or memorialize a person (such as using some of their favorite ties).

If no, I will ask for some guidance about the colors that you would like included in the shade.  I'll also ask for you to select a couple of shades from my gallery for inspiration.

Pricing

Custom lampshades are usually $400 to $800 depending on the size, design, and materials.  Please let me know your budget.  I require half the cost to be paid as a deposit to begin construction and the other half to be paid before shipping.

Time to complete

It can take weeks to months to acquire a new lampshade frame.  Once the lampshade frame and other materials are collected, it usually takes me 4 weeks to complete the lampshade.  I should be able to give you an accurate timeline estimate before you pay the deposit.
