FAQ
What materials are used in these lampshades?
I prefer to use upcycled, vintage, and deadstock materials whenever possible. All shades are lined with two layers of silk charmeuse to give good light diffusion. The fabric composition of the outer layer varies from shade to shade and it listed on its product page. I try to use with natural fabrics as much as possible but will use synthetic fabrics when they are the right choice for the design.
What kind of bulb should I use with my lampshade?
All lampshades are designed with a warm-tone 40 watt equivalent LED bulb. I recommend using LED bulbs with my lampshades to preserve the color of the fabrics.
How do I clean my lampshade?
Do not get your lampshade wet as it may stain the fabrics. To remove dust, I recommend using a soft duster such as a Swiffer or a hairdryer with low heat.
Can I send you my existing lampshade to use as a frame?
Yes! There is more information on the “Custom Lampshades” page.
Do you sell lamp bases with your lampshades?
No, I do not sell my lamp bases through my online shop. I do occasionally sell lamp bases at in-person events such as art fairs.
How long will it take to receive my lampshade?
The vast majority of my lampshades are shipped by USPS ground shipping with insurance and a signature requirement. I usually ship within 3 business days and shipping takes less than a week. If you need a lampshade faster, please reach out to arrange expediated shipping.
Can I pick up my lampshade?
Yes, if you are in Western Pennsylvania, I'd be happy to arrange in-person pick up.
Do you ship outside the U.S.?
This online shop is not set up to ship outside of the U.S. I do ship outside the U.S. on a case-by-case basis. Please contact me to discuss the feasibility and cost to ship to your location.
Returns and Exchanges
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. All my lampshades are hand stitched using traditional techniques. As such, you may encounter small variations or asymmetries due to the handmade nature of each piece.
I have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. I can offer exchanges for undamaged items shipped in their original packaging within 14 days. The purchaser pays all shipping costs for exchanges, including return of the original item and delivery of the replacement.
All custom orders are non-refundable.
